In the market for a new set of tyres and in my searches the Nexen N8000 tyre keeps popping up. They are very inexpensive and have a similar tread pattern to the Michelin PS2.
Has anybody had any experiences or issues with them

People will tell you not to buy chinese/korean tires..but as long as they are not V tread and made by a company with some history..you will be fine. Nexen is an OEM supplier to Kia and Hyundai (not MB i know) and their tires are overall very decent.

I had a very bad puncture in Canada on Nexens on my G500. They were on a CPO truck, new. I asked the dealer to change them for the stock Yokos but they would not. I was 500 km from a dealer when the slash happened.
I would recommend you look at Hankook if you want a less expensive range of tires that people use on the autobahns.
Nexens don't even have belts! They are dangerous junk.
Now ask me how I really feel.
