B0/B2? when...and how much

So ive only had my car a few months, when i got it i remember going through the menus and seeing it say that the B0 server was due in a few thousand miles. The other day i got a postcard from the dealer reminding me that my service was due so i went and checked the reminder in the car which now says that B2 is due in 217 days. Would the system normally prompt you when it detects your getting close to the service? I dont recall it saying anything.....Also how much is a B0 service generally? or B2....(first benz, not sure!)

Thanks all

The interval is typically 1 year (365 days), unless you drive a lot, in which case it may be sooner, like every 10K miles.

It sounds like the vehicle was serviced 148 days ago (is that when you bought it?), so you shouldn't need to go in for service for a while. You've got 217 days to go. The car will display a warning message when you're close to being due for service.

Dealers send out these service reminder letters all the time, regardless if you're actually due for service or not.

Basically, you need to find out when was the last time the car was in for service. If it's been more than 1 year or 10k miles, then you should get it serviced.

As far as prices, it varies from dealer to dealer. The cheapest one around me charges $350 for Service B.

Hmm quick update, called in to the dealer to check on the details of the service they were reminding me about. They told me something a bit diff, they say its due for a service A. Which seems a bit odd....wouldnt this car have had a service A already (correct me if im wrong but im new to Benz) as its a '10 and im the 2nd owner. I did buy the car about 148 days ago (CPO). it was at around 24k miles then and its at 27k now. Dealer also said it would be about $220 for the service A, plus i got a 10% off service thing so ~$200.

They also said the service is changing filters and oil, tire rotation, inspecting the car (and light bulbs) which worries me a tad as ive swapped a few bulbs for LEDs and am about to put in a AZN Optics HID kit, should i wait till after the service to put that in as it may be problematic (voiding part of the warranty?)

Does it seem like i should bring it in for service soon? or wait the 200 days.

Its only a problem if it fries you wiring, otherwise they dont care, they just make sure no lights are out and if they are they replace them.

Also your car can Say A A1 A2 or B B1 B2 or count down ABCDEFG ect, however dealers roatate back and forth between A and B services so it prob had a B service at its 20K so yet another A service would or should be due around 30K miles on your car since its first at 10K was an A and 20k was a B

I was going to tell you to look at the maintenance booklet of your car as that will show you the sequence of service types performed. However, I just looked at the 2010 one, and they don't call them Service A and B anymore... heh... nevermind then.
