Hi There,
I've been noticing a rather annoying rattling sound whenever i accelerate Heavily. It is quite short ( Almost as if 2 metal pieces were vibrating agaisnt each other) and it occurs for .5 seconds around 3000 RPM and 5000 RPM.
It does NOT do it while in neutral and I floor it. I went to the dealer the other day to change winter tires and talked to them about it. They only checked for ( i guess ) electronic problems as they say I should continue to monitor this ( They did not find anything wrong ). I am going again to have my side mirror frames replaced in 2 weeks and consider bringing a tech for a drive with me.
The sound is not that loud, but loud enough to be heard.
My friend who has a c350 from the same year does not have the same problem. The car has 40 000k and has always been driven very carefully by my mom. I never typically floor it, but it became an obsession once I discovered this.
Also, it does not seem to do it when the engine is cold.

Yes ! Here is the YouTube Video... You rmay hear it better at around 2 seconds it starts you can clearly hear it ( put on headphones and its VERY clear !!

Here's a much better video.. You can clearly hear the rattle just as the needle gets to the 3000 RPM mark and up... Kinda sad to see this.. I'll let you know what the dealer says...
