Convert sports to luxury suspension?

I would like to buy a C350 Luxury model but it is not available in the USA.
Does anyone know if it is practical to replace the shocks and springs from the sports version to get a smoother ride? If so, what would it cost?

I dont know if it is practical, but I really doubt it. I hope you've driven both models to get a feel for it. I haven't, but I've been told they aren't all that far apart. I have sports suspension (coming from lux suspension on my last C (w203) ) and I like it a lot better. It's still wonderful over the very bumpy roads where I live. Much better on turns.

I'd advise against this idea. If you MUST get a 350...why not just trade your tires/wheels with a C300 lux owner and get some cash out of it. Or sell your new tires and buy ones with softer sidewalls.

Good idea, 17" x 7.5" front and rear. Must get a Lux wheel trade lined up. It would be an extra $1100 to get same size optional wheels.

Keep the fancy adjustable shocks, replace springs with canadian C350 RWD parts (.7" less drop), and go with USA c300Lux 4matic sway bars.

Seek oem parts places with discount.

For a softer ride why not put on 16 inch rims & run 205 55 16 tyres.

There is a lot of difference in ride quality. Why not test drive a car with 16" rims.

Correct and good idea. But, I'd be surprise if any C250's were on the showroom with basic 16" tires/wheels. .... They usually show with optional 17" rims.

BTW, About my last post, I think the smaller sway bars could come used, off an earlier C300 Lux rwd in the bone-yard.
