HD radio?

Has anyone fitted an HD radio add-on tuners to the OEM radio? Will this even work? I have seen several of the HD radio tuners on Crutchfields but not sure if they will work on MB radios.

Don't know the answer to your question. My '12 comes standard with it. Not sure I'd add it. You basically get the same stations. Sometimes there's an HD2 but I haven't noticed I've got a lot of extra selection and the sound while different (and better quality than Sirius for sure) isn't necessarily an improvement over regular radio.

I agree with most of this, especially the ridiculous fact that HD radio is higher quality than Sirius. I do think that HD radio gives a huge improvement to sound over regular radio though. You never get any static at all! Very rarely the HD radio signal drops out for a second which reduces you to regular analog radio for that split second. Also, the song artist & album info loads faster / shows more info with HD radio.

I've become very disappointed in the sound quality of Sirius - and I don't even have the HK speakers!

Yes, very disappointing. I may not even renew when it expires. I've had in my work vehicle for years and years and in another personal vehicle as well and it was passable, once I got used to it.

The HK system, wow, it reveals the thinness and flaws and low bitrate to an extreme degree.
