Why is my service light on
My service B light just came on my next service is due at 52k I only have 40k miles. It seams like every service is being done WAY before it's due.
My 26k service was done at 19k, my 39k service was done at 28k, now it wants me to due the 52k at 40k. Is this more of a calendar thing than a miles thing.

Read your service manual.

The reason being, they figure at 1 year, it's time to do the service because someone who has put on 7,000 miles might have had a lot of idling, stop and go city driving that would still probably necessitate getting the oil changed. Plus, checking on the other components of the car.
Honestly, I think the 13k change interval of 2008 cars was pushing the limits a bit. I feel good that I end up getting mine done more often than that, thanks to the 1 year interval.
I should also point out since you have 40,000 miles, if you haven't already done it, you will be due for the transmission service. This can go for up to $500+ just for the transmission part of the service, depending on the dealer.

Yes, it's 1 year or 10/13k miles depending on your car's year.
