2012 c250 HID installation ?
Wuick question, has anyone done a hid installation on their 2012 c class, i baught hid kit i tried to install them and FAIL, the oem light bulb snaps in to the headlight ( the car is without the lighting package ) so the hid kit just sits there n its loose there isnt any thing to hold it. The c300 has a little metal piece that holds the bulb tight in its place but the new 2012 doesnt have that. So my question is how do i make it stay there tight if anyone has done it any tips will be appriciated.

Hi buddy. Which bulb type did you get? You might have gotten a wrong bulb type. Usually, the bulbs will snap right into place. If you can snap a picture of the 2 bulbs side by side, you'd see the difference

Yep. This doesn't make much sense. 2012 C350 / C300 / C250 take H7 bulbs just like before. ![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
When you do get things sorted out please make sure the HIDs are aimed low enough not to blind other drivers. You should know that installing HIDs into the reflectors produces a very messy light output which can be blinding to other drivers.

exactly... saw an accord with blue "HIDs" while driving home from work. lights just scattered everywhere BUT the road. If you, or anybody, already have the car without the lighting package, just live with the halogen lights. It'll light up the road much better than an aftermarket HID kit without a proper retrofit and it doesn't even look THAT bad
I think the stock front marker bulbs look particularly horrid (yellow) with the stock halogen package. I replaced those bulbs with the AZN white LEDs (matches the stock light strips perfectly, just like the lighting package does) and I also replaced my lowbeams with the Philips Crystal Vision halogens. Things look a thousand times better - it's a HUGE difference. Total cost was about $45, took 5 minutes, doesn't blind anyone, and maintains the proper optics with the reflector housings.

OP, best bet is to snap a pic for us of your problem, this includes the pics of the back of the housing where your problem is. Also, based on your description, it sounds similar to bulb installation to the H7 bulb holder found in the pre-facelift sport model fog lamps. Still, get us pics so we can better help you. Also, pls make sure you don't go over 6000k on your HID's, that's the absolute maximum you should be using, 4300k is preferred.

No they really do not fit
I got the same problem. They changed the way the bulb is held in the assembly. They also moved it forward or shortened the plastic cover over the bulb, so some HID bulbs are too long!
Basically the metal clamp that holds the bulb in is different. I took a kit that I had in '08 E350, which is an H7 bulb kit and the same one that fit into the C-class before and it just doesn't fit. This is very stressful, since I had no idea when I was buying the car. Now I am stuck (at least for the time being) with crappy halogens! I am not used to that.
Anyone knows of any kit that would fit 2012+ c-class, please post some information. And please, no guesses!
Thanks guys!

Again, we need images to help figure this out, given that most of us drive the pre-facelift not alot of us know what the new one looks like behind the lights. Pls provide images so we can help. Also, I'm wondering if what you facelift owners are facing is what BMW faced a while back where you needed an adapter to install HID's like these http://www.carhidkits.com/bmw-e46-hi...apter-289.html

Cant help you with pics.
Theres another Thread about this, but diff to find fast with IPhone.
You dont need adapters, you need to take the metal clip from the oem bulb holder and use this.
The HID bulb fits into the metal clip/clamp with some measurement and patience.
AND you need the shortest HID bulb you can find (there was a brand metioned in the other thread)
Otherwise it will touch the metal insert in the headlight.
Sorry, no pictures and i wont touch it anymore because it was a pain in the .... Job

Agreed, you have to reuse the metal adaptor AFTER cutting thru its ring so you can slip it over the new bulb's wires. Then just reinstall the assembly and twist till it locks in place.

I'm having trouble installing my HID XENON kit on my 2012 C 250. The bulbs are loose and not locking into place. I read other post. Can someone help me with what I need to do to lock the bulbs into place since it is the new version without the metal clip like the 2011 version. I read to take the clip off the connector and place it on the new HID bulb. Is there a installation video for this ?
