Malfunction In the Restraint System
Hi Everyone, looking for someone who is technically minded to help source the cause of a restraint malfunction.
Background. I just bought a stolen recovered W204 from an auction. The car was bought at the right price and for the last 3 months I have managed to source all the correct parts.
With nearly everything done it was time to have ago at addressing the Air Bag light that had remained on. My initial thoughts were that the ignition had been turned on whilst the seats were disconnected, I have Carsoft (Original) and tried to reset the light but it would go out for about 2 seconds then come back on. Carsoft diagnosed the fault code as: B9CFF but that means nothing to me?
Trying to diagnose the problem I searced for the airbag fuse hoping that might be the cause, but couldn't find it. I then set about removing the front seats to check all the connectors were in place underneath (looked good) going further I then removed the bottom trim on each centre pillar to expose the seatbelt mechanism, whilst checking the mechanisms I noticed that someone had cut the connector wires and re-joined them, how bizzaire? I checked the integrity of the rejoins and they look good..
The car has had a bang to the rear left which could have resulted in seat belt tensioners being ativated, but I have know way of knowing if these were replaced?
Thats kind of where I stand at the moment, I am obviously not keen to have the dealer otherwise it will be £1k before anything is done. Is there anyway of checking each of the seatbelt tensioners to see if there's a fault or going a stage further checking the airbags.
Any help would be appreciated
