Question about functionality of headlight design (pre-facelift)
I'm going to black out the housings on my fiancee's car over my vacation and while looking over the headlights I notice that there are dips in front of the beams and I wondered if they served a function. I find it hard to believe that the engineers randomly put those dips there just for looks when a regular flat surface probably would've been a cheaper mold to make and form when creating the headlights.
Has anyone who blacked out those dips noticed a difference in their light output/beam pattern? Obviously the point of blacking out the housings is to black everything out but I don't want to end up blacking out something functional. Thanks.
