Which tire to get.

I have been waiting for Continantial DSW to come in stock. I have been waiting since October for them to come in. My tire guy called me and offered me a the Hankook V12 evo. Should I hold out for the Conti? Or go with the Hankook?
For the record I run winter and summer tires. These will be my summer only tires.

Neither. There is no reason to compromise year round with DWS all season tires if you'll only run in the spring/summer/fall. Hankook are in the right summer max performance category, just not the best ones. Consider Michelin Pilot Super Sports or PS2, or from Continental, the DW, not DWS. I don't think Michelin Pilot Sport 3 are in our sizes yet, but are also worth pursuing. But, if you're down to your tire guy's current offerings, the Hankook make far more sense than the DWS in your situation.

Take a look at Michelin Primacy HP for summer tyres.

Just wondering about the rationale...it's a very durable but lower performance tire...seems to have wrong attributes for enthusiastic driving on good roads, but would be great for comfort and long life on marginal surfaces.

I got the DSW's from Tire Rack back in November.

I am very happy with the improvement in ride and wet-weather performance.

I am anxious(did I really say that) to try them insome light snow!

Exactly !! Buy the tyre to suit your driving , conditions & pocket.

Buying performance tyres when not needed is a waste of money but most drivers will tell you they do require performance tyres

If looking for a summer tire in that price range of the EVO and DW with somewhat decent treadlife you may also want to consider the Bridgestone RE760 Sport. It's budget friendly, has decent treadlife, and is sticky enough for most any driving 90% of us would do on the roads. This is assuming you're not looking for an all out top shelf performance tire with unlimited budget and also assuming you want more than 10K miles out of the tires.

cheers! Mike

Let me add to my last post. I have my stock wheels that I am running snow tires on.
My new tires will be 19'. 235/35/19 front 265/30/19 rear. The DWS can't be found for the front. I am not a track driver, or an aggressive driver. I just want a nice looking tire that has some decent grip.
