Change Ipod Integration To Aux Input?

My 08 C300 came with just the ipod integration in it , ive already looked behind the panel as well, no aux input is near the glove box. I recently purchased a Ipod female to 3.5mm jack, similar to this one ( http://www.amazon.com/Grom-Audio-iPh...6834155&sr=8-1 ) but it sadly wont play anything thru my iphone. I would really like to have an aux input, as i dont use the ipod integration kit much because it is in the glove box... I even tried to extend the ipod integration cable with an ipod extension cable, but no luck. I just want to get an aux input so i can extend it to reach my cupholder and be more useful and convenient. Thanks for the help, btw i have the full multimedia package with the large screen.

I dont have the MM package but for me my aux port is near the right side of the glove compartment? Is yours there? If not than sorry for no help . The thing is if you have ipod integration you should be able to change songs through your dashboard easily. Once you switch to aux you have to manually do it.

All i have there is the ipod cord coming into my glove box, no aux plug in. I would rather do it manually where i could run the cord to my cupholder therefore i can use my phone (not while driving) but just when i stop and such. Alot easier than getting it out of the glove box everytime. Also it is easier for a passenger to control the music as it distracts the driver on the dash. I use it but i would much rather give control to my passenger considering they are not gonna be changing the song on the steering wheel lol. Thanks for the input tho!

My personal solution is to have a dedicated ipod just for the car glove box, therefore allowing me to place my phone wherever I want it. You can probably find an older generation ipod for cheap anywhere online if you don't have an old one in a drawer somewhere... The battery doesn't even have to be in very good shape since it's always plugged in to the car. Just an idea. Your passenger can still mess with the playlists, etc with the control wheel and the MM screen.

If I remember correctly the aux plug is right underneath the ipod cable.

The iPod Integration Kit defeats the functionality of the Aux cable, its one or the other.

If you truly want ONLY the Aux cable input, pull out the iPod Integration Kit and this will allow the Aux cable to be used again. If the iPod volume into the Aux cable is too low after removing the Ipod Integration, purchase a PHP Audio Sound Shocker from:

Not completely true. You can have both cables running into the glove box (mine is currently like that). You're right in that you can only use one device at a time, however you don't have to pull out or disconnect the ipod cable to utilize the aux.

It will actually use both sources simultaneously. You have to unplug the iPod adapter to stop it from playing.

You mean unplug the iPod from the adapter? Yes.
Not take the whole thing out.
