Last minute change to lease from purchase still time to change?
2012 C250 sedan with msrp of $43093 or a little more.
Negotiated price to $38,000 could not qualify for Conquest...
Trade in was 2010 Prius V with 72k miles for $14k with $17,295 owed on current loan.
Putting either $5k or $6k down the monthly was going to be $73X a month for 60 months at basically 4% (Excellent credit around 800 for both me and wife).
Got talked into 33 month lease at 15K miles a year and $652.43 a month with
service contract at $1,100
maintenance agreement of $769
FLCP of $1,045
CAP red tax $101.12
Total Gross Capitalized cost : $44318.88
Monthly payment:
Cap Cost Reduction $1,225.69
Adjusted Cap Cost $43,093.19
Residual Value $27,738.27
Depreciation and amortized amounts $15,354.92
Rent Charge: $4,534.51
Total of Base monthly payments: $19,889.43
I was trying to decide if buying at a total cost of $44,XXX with interest (Probably less because I like to pay off at least a year or two early) was less desirable then leasing whether or not I decide to keep the car when they ask me if I want to get out of my lease in a little over two years or after I finish with the whole lease in 33 months?
Basically if I go to buy this OR our next Mercedes will I have to hope I can negotiate down the residual too far?
And is that MBZ wheel and tire plus for $1,100 worth it for a lease or did I just get swindled along with the small unoticed $55 document prep fee?
I normally always buy a vehicle but got caught hungry after hours of looking and off-guard with the lower than expected resale of my trade-in.
Any input is appreciated as I take delivery of the vehicle by this saturday (its still on the boat) and I'm thinking of calling them tommorow to see if I can still convert this into a sale.
Im also considering going through my credit union for a better loan rate or doing a shorter term through Mercedes themselves.

Trying to decide if I need that MBZ wheel tire plus service/warranty thing too. Kind of pricey at $1100.
