bought some HID kits for the install but stuck atm. With my previous mercs without projectors I just pull the H7 plug off the bulb and the connector comes off easily, this one no matter how hard i pull it doesnt come off? am I missing anything? I feel if i pull much harder it'll break the housing. I see some screws and a metal plate-ish clip, do I need to remove those first before I can get the plug off the bulb? With my old mercs I just pull the plug off first then there is a round metal retainer clip that holds the bulb in. Pics would be great too thanks!
Thanks

Oh yeah, I had trouble with that too. It was on there pretty secure. What I did was take a flat head and wedge it in between the bulb and the connector and twisted the flat head vertically so it would slowly get the bulb out. I did that slowly to all of the edges, like how you work around the top of a can of paint to get the lid off.

got it off thanks! wow, i can build a track car but can't take a bulb off a benz haha.
how did you guys get the plate to lock the hid bulb in? the plugs of the hid bulb wont fit threw the hole in the clip
edit: my HID plug seem way too big to fit even if i cut the holding plate. However looking at the pilot xenon site, my plug looks to be the same size as theres

That seems to be the problem with the facelift c class...after the connectors changed, I've seen alot of people that had problems connecting HID kits...most kits are made for 2011 so kinda have to work something out with the new connectors...

for those that's successfully done the conversion are you guys able to post a photo of your hid bulb size and the cut you needed to make to the retaining clip in order to hold the bulb? Thanks!

The connectors from the HID kit can go true the metal pièce, it isnt easy but if fits .
So i mean the connectors from the lamp, not the converter .
If you do it One by One , it isnt easy and can scrape some plastic from the connector , but its possible .

ic. Yours must be much smaller than mine. There's no way for me to squeeze it through unless I cut through the metal holding plate and bend it to allow the connector to pass =(

What update do you need. Take of the metal piece , put it over the HID bulb and turn it into the headlight.
Isnt easy but it is possible.

depends on the hids. My first set the connector was too big so I had to get a clip. While in a store that sold the clip, they had HIDs that had smaller connectors that fit through the OEM clip so I just bought their HID instead and returned my first set.
