Registration question

Hi all,
New user here. I recently got a 2009 C300. Everything is signed and it was a done deal. Now they are telling me that they had to pay more for the registration than what I paid in my down payment and that I am responsible for the difference. Is this correct or are they trying to rip me for an additional $200? Thanks in advance for the help!

If your tags, registration and associated fees were all lumped into your financing, then it should be detailed on your bill of sale and/or financing paperwork. Sounds fishy to me imho. All this was clearly stated on my documentation and dealers never make mistakes on these types of things. Not sure how they'd "undercharge" you $200. Fight it!

Thanks for the reply speder. That's what I was thinking too. I'm going to take all of my paperwork in to fight it.

Just go to the dealer with your paperwork and ask them to explain everything and also show proof of what the registration actually cost them. They should have receipts for everything.

Never had something like this happen. Actually, only the opposite a few times. My wife just got a check for 11.xx bucks from the dealer we bought her C350 a few weeks ago.

My dealer tried the same exact thing. Told them to burn in hell. Worked out nicely.

I would bet it is accurate, cannot imagine them trying to beat you on registration cost (service maybe..)

You are better off paying "cash" for the registration, who the hell finances the reg fee and pays interest on it anyway? If in fact it does show as a line item on your paperwork, which you should have, then you should be all set - Is there an expense listed for registration?
