MGP Caliper Covers
Now that I finally upgraded my wheels, it is kind of showing off just how small and bland my brakes look. While I don't want the expense and weight of the big brake kits, I want to do something to perk things up a bit.
First off, I pulled the wheels, cleaned up the hubs and sprayed them a nicer silver but things still looking kinda dark and sad in there. I have painted my calipers on other cars but I just don't think that will help.
Anyhow, I am thinking of ordering a set of MGP caliper covers and wanted to get some opinions from the forum.

I think I would go silver as I dont want them to scream "hey, look at my big fake brakes" as I kinda think the red would do, but just want to brighten things up in there. Anyhow, they seem to be well made and engineered as they would actually act like a heat sink to pull heat off the brakes as well as keep a bit of the brake dust off the wheels.
Anyone have these?

I've considered these in the past on many of my cars just to 'neaten' up the look of the messy stock callipers, but never taken it up as all the ones I've seen don't look real enough.
If they could make them look like a real calliper then that would be much better

I think its one of those "looks good from 10 feet away" mods.. I like the idea of not having to paint the stock calipers, but these are kinda expensive. And you already painted your calipers silver. If I purchased these, in noo way would i try and pretend i have a BBK.. as some members would think. The red is just played out.. I would get pearl white to match my car, and the black wheels would make it stand out.

I'd say go with: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...isc-brakes.jpg and some spinners!
On the semi-serious side, I think those covers will cheapen the look of your Mercedes.

Yea, I kind of thought they had a bit of a poser or cheesy feel to them but was curious as to what others thought. I guess when you start playing around with mods, one thing always leads to the next.
Not sure what I will do but don't think a big brake kit is in my future...maybe some of those plastic "Brembo" covers would look sweet...lol

I've seen these plastic covers in person and it's pretty obvious that they're fake covers. I'd highly highly recommend against it. On my cars where the brakes are just too small for the setup and I don't feel like going big, I just do what Ron suggested and black em out to visually delete them and just upgrade to drilled or slotted rotors which draw attention away.....kind of like putting a hot girl next to an ugly fat one in a dress that matches the wallpaper one to draw the eye away. That's a more legit way of spicing up the visual appeal behind the wheels.

200 bucks for some cheesy caliper covers??? Holy ****!!!
If you want color, just put some elbow grease in it and either paint or powder coat them. Do NOT put those on them!

But yeah I'd just paint em black too. Not so hard to do. A lot of kits out there are pretty good and just require that you use the brush on method.

I agree about the plastic covers and that was 100% a joke
I have brushed on red a couple times with great results and will likely just brush on black or silver this time around as well.
