if they're not what size lugbolts should i be looking for.. i know i need tapered not ball.. but what size and all that.. this is my first euro.. before this i didn't even know there was such a thing as lugbolts

thanks for any help

I don't see anything different about them except the tips. One has a triangle thing and the other doesn't. As long as they are m14x1.5 then you are fine. Though the length does come in to play as well as the depth of bolt holes on the wheels, I think you should be fine.

THE O.D. of the ones on the right look smaller than the OEM ones, could just be the angle of the pic...

Ack i think he gave me 12 instead of 14. Its a lot skinnier.

How many turns is too many turns on our car where the bolt goes into the brakes??

im looking online.. mcgard etc.. they all have like 28mm and up thread length.. is that too long?

even HR's shortest 14x1.5 is 22mm thread length..

the wheels are taper (cone) seat.. what length is safe and not too long.. i put the stock in the hole just to check and it comes out the back 15mm.. and the stock thread length looks like 17mm..

help?

Shouldn't be too long. OEM shank length are 27mm. I have mcgard lug bolts 28mm as well and they're almost the same length as my OEM ones.

oem is 27mm thread? the thread part on my oem bolts measure 17ish..

only the threaded part is what im measuring.. not sure what shank refers to.. basicall im measuring where the ball seat stops being ball and thread starts..

Weird. OEM should be 27mm. What you measured is referred to the shank. Odd that its only 17mm. Unless the whole bolt is 27mm. Anyways, my mcgard lug bolts I ordered are m14x1.5 28mm and it works perfectly.

ahhh.. this is what food coma does to me.. i can't count 10mm from 5mm lol

so yes 27mm looks right and 28mm from mcgard should work.. or maybe even longer but it seems like 14-15mm out the back side of wheel hub should give a good 9 full turns ?

15mm is what you wanna shoot for, thats how I measure up for wheels. what you wanna do is find out from the wheel rep the hub thickness, they will ususally tell you what size bolts to use and if theyre acorn or cone seating. the easiest way is to push a bolt thru the rim and measure whats on the other side, but alot of guys order wheels and wanna mounth them and run. Most rim shops carry the standard and chrome mcgard lugs in 14x1.5 its very popular pitch/thread for euros. I use RAD bolts mostly, and use LAinc plastic caps in the color i need which is usually black. The longest bolts Ive had to use is 38mm so far on my brabus wheels, but even 33mm wont rub the hub w stock wheels I had to do that in a pinch once and it was fine. my euro63 and carlsson's both use 33mm cone seats
