COMAND / Electrical Problem (Won't Shut Off)
Hi everyone, I unplugged my iPhone from my glovebox connector yesterday, and now the COMAD unit seems to be malfunctioning. First, my iPhone is no longer recognized, then the time on my COMAND screen is blank, it keeps telling me it will shut down if I don't turn the engine on (even though it's on), and when I turn the car off, the music and screen continue on. I have to physically push the button for it to shut off.
Further, the buttons on my steering wheel don't work (the volume doesn't, then when I move over to Navi or Audio, the screen is blank on my dash screen).
I have an 09 C-Class with the nav/comand package. Any help is appreciated, as I don't have time to go to the dealer for the next month and a half. Thanks.

Sounds like a CANBUS communication fault. You could further diagnose it from the engineering menu, but odds are you'll need to see an expert. Could try removing the fuse to reset it incase it's a software bug. Might be a loose connection.
