MB C300 Choices: 2010 20,000km $35K, 2009 60,000km $30K, or 2009 32,000km $33K?

So I'm deciding between a few C300 models... pricing is all pre-tax, pre-warranty:
  • 2010 - 20,000km - $35K - Total all in with warranty/tax: $42K
  • 2009 - 32,000km - $33K - Total all in with warranty/tax: $40K
  • 2009 - 60,000km - $30K - Total all in with warranty/tax: $37K
  • Do nothing and wait for another deal

All have premium pkg, Certified PreOwned, all have clean CarProofs. Will drive about 15-17000 km/yr.
I'm thinking of adding on an Extended Limited Warranty at a cost of about $2.5K for 160,000km / 6-7 year warranty on top of pricing.

Thoughts?

Without seeing any of them I can offer little guidance on how I would proceed...

You need to check on the sale date for each model because that is when the warranty clock begins. For example, the 2010 could have been sold in Sep 2009 and either of the 09s could have been sold in Dec 2009 meaning thier 4-yr/80,000km warranty started later. Granted the one with 60,000km will end much sooner due to mileage (not age) and with your predicted driving it will be over in a little more than a year.

ASSUMING all have an original selling date of March in thier respective model year I'd go with the 2010.

Your factory warranty will be good for another 2-years or 60,000km and then you will get the additional 1-year for being CPOd taking you out until March 2015 or 160km.

So for me I would first check on the sold dates. You may be able tosave yourself some coin upfront that you can use on some mods because it may not be necessary, at this point, to add an additional warranty beyond the CPO'd. I mean you will get nearly 3-yrs and 140,000-km and you can always add an extended warranty through MB or 3rd party before the CPO'd warranty expires.

Plus, the 2010's have the LED side mirrors which are something I wish I had on my 2008.

I should mention I'm in the states so I am basing this mileage information of our 4-yr/50,000-mile warranty and our CPOd program which tacks on an extra year or up to 100,000-miles as soon as the factory warranty expires.

Thanks for the in depth answer mhass.

Here are the Carpoofs for both:

https://reports.carproof.com/main?id...kjPAyoZmZRdd8y - 10/30/09

In Canada, CPO is a purchase on top of the car, it doesn't come standard with the pricing.

Star Certified Warranty: Certified vehicles are covered by a four-year, 80,000-km Star Certified Warranty.
CPO (needs to be purchased at 2.2K cost) gives a total of 6 years or 120,000 km.
ELW (extended warranty at 2.7K cost) is 6yrs+1yr power train and 160,000km.

So for the 2010, the CPO warranty (+$2.2K) would take me to 2016/120K KM with the ELW taking me to 2017/150K KM.
