Crazy Occasional Smoke
My wife's C300 has about 60000 miles on it, and once in a while it will exibit blue oil type smoke on start up. It will be smoke free morning after morning until one day it will do it, once it starts the smoke goes away. It does not and never has used a drop of oil between changes and no smoke any other time. If it was valve seals or guides it would do it every morning once the oil has leaked down into the cylinders. My repair guy, who is a benz only shop thinks it has to do with the PCV system some how. anyone heard of this problem?

I had something similar happen on my 2009 C300. Looks like the oil level was too high. These cars seem to have no dipstick and the mechanic should be very very accurate in the amount of oil they put in. My guy first drained some off and it was better, but it still happened. Then he drained all the oil and put in exactly the amount it is supposed to have. So far so good, no smoke. Still watching it though.

Cold start, short run
Is it possible you started the car cold just to move it about in the garage-?
Then next day a bit of smoke on startup.
I have seen this once, after I did that .

Nope....started the car, backed it out to the driveway and let it warm up. On starting, the smoke came, then stopped. Drove to work about 10 miles. It sat for 4 hrs, started it, and the smoke came. Same thing later in the day. Then the shop drained the oil and put in the correct amount. Keeping my fingers crossed but since they did that, no problems!!

i just started to have this problem as well..it will happen when i cold start the car in the morning and even sometimes when i only drive it in the morning and then take it out later in the day. I just got a custom x-pipe installed made out of 304 stainless steel and i had a good shop install it so im hoping it has nothing to do with that. main question here is that if its possible that the x-pipe is causing the problem?
