Ride Quality Feedback

Almost ready to fit a set of Vertini Riviera wheels 19x8.5 235/35/19 F & 19x9.5 265/30/19 R.

Would appreciate some feedback on the difference in ride quality between 19" and the original 17" wheels to help convince the wife.

Regarding ride quality, you are definitely going in the wrong direction. The final answer for you two will be her level of sensitivity. If you live where roads are billiard-table smooth...maybe...but if you go over a nickel, will she be sensitive enough to know if it was heads or tails? You know her best!

35 is a pretty thin sidewall, and that's on the front, you've got 30 on the rear. I see you're located in Aus but not knowing which part of Aus and going on assumption, I'd say you're gonna lose this battle. You're better off with 18's and at least a 40 sidewall to save some comfort. If you don't change your suspension and run 18's you should be fine (personal experience) You CAN run 19's on the stock suspension and still have some comfort but it's pushing it on potholes and what not.

I'm with Knightmare, the wife won't like the ride if she's picky. A set of 18" will give you style and ride quality. Don't cheap out on tires either. Buy a good quality tire. ex. Nitto Invo are good for stagggered set ups won't go lumpy and are pretty quiet. Good Luck

if the wife is looking for pure luxury ride shes gonna notice it bigtime. If she appreciates some sportiness and roadfeel she will like. I have 18s and 19s and they all behave a little different and its mostly due to tires and tire noise. A set of 18s is a good compromise, I notice no difference in ride between the 17 and 18 inch wheels in my moms C

How about trying a dealer car with a set of 18's, and looking for a used model with 19's?

On another car, going from 50 series 17's to 55 series 16's (same width) made a HUGE difference in ride comfort.

Why would you even consider it ?. Fashion ?

The first descent Australian pothole will blow the tyres & crack the alloys not to mention wearing out your suspensionin quick time.

Put you money in the bank for your new E Class or pay off the house !!
