C300 Brakes Replacement Sensors
I have a 2009 C300 with the original brakes and was wondering if the electronic brake sensors will tell me when the brake pads need replacing?

The sensors are not electronic but are just little ceramic blocks pressed into the edges of the pads (2 front, 1 rear) containing a brass nub that contacts the brake disc (which is chassis ground) when the pads are down to a certain thickness thus illuminating the pad wear light. When replacing pads, replace the sensors. When the light comes on, the pads are not worn out but are getting close so they should be inspected.
