Keyless door entry
Anyone know if there's anything particular about MB's (2012 C350 in particular) that would prevent the aftermarket installation of something like this: http://www.drivearabia.com/news/wp-c...oor-button.jpg
I run a lot and don't like carrying keys with me. My F150 came stock with this type of keypad and I'd like something like this with the MB. Not sure if there's something that the computer/security might disagree with...

That stinks...Thanks for the info though. Being able to keep my keys locked inside my truck was one of the best features. It's going to take some getting use to if I can't do that anymore...

Why would you want something that ugly on the outside of a nice new Benz anyway? Just slide the key blade out of the remote and tuck it in your waistband or sock.

Some people wrap their car in plastic or lower it to the point of undriveability (sp?). Others like features that improve the vehicle's usefulness. It's all a matter of preference.
I don't know much about their keys other than they don't look like a conventional key. I didn't know that there's a key blade that can slide out. I feared that the whole thing was a single electronic "key" and that rain/sweat could ruin it. And then there's the chance of losing a key on a trail run...

Yeah, there is a small blade that you can release and slide out of the remote that will allow you to get in the vehicle. I don't have my MB key with me otherwise I could send you a pic of it, but it's about the size of two tooth pics side by side. Fortunately when I run, I usually just take off from my house and run to the beach, along the sand for a while then back. When hiking or doing trail runs I usually take my truck (along w/ my dogs) so I haven't really dealt with the MB key issue, but I should think that the remote would hold up to sweat without a problem.

Keeping your key inside your truck is just asking for it to be stolen. Not wise.
