Brake Fluid?
I'm due for service B soon, does anybody know how much brake fluid I need in order to flush and refill my brake system? 2011 6spd manual C300 (if it makes a difference)
Also any suggestions on what fluid to get, if it even matters? I know there's always claims from somebody that theirs is better for ___ but what is actually good or should I just get whatever the auto parts store has in stock. I've haven't been keeping up on this stuff anymore so I figured you guys would know if there was any new stuff that was worth a damn or more importantly if it will make my Benz angry
MB states that we should use Dot 4 standard. Any trusted brand of that standard will do the job.
It makes it easier if you buy a fluid that is of a different colour to that which is in your car. You can then see at each wheel when the new fluid is coming through.
Always buy a fluid that has been recently manufactured ie 2 to 3 months old & not old stock. Brake fluid is hydroscopic.
Thanks
For $150 I wouldn't waste my time, it's becoming increasingly more valuable these days.

I was referring to Amsoil brake fluid, it seems to have good reviews. I don't know what color it is though
I'll see if anybody at home sells it locally

And you should not use fluid from an opened can since the fluid is hygroscopic (not hydroscopic) which means it pulls moisture from the air. Because if this, there is no point in saving a partial container.
Good Find, do you think there's any chance I can find it in a local store?

I made up this set up then connected it up to my $100 Chinese workshop compressor. You have to be careful to regulate the pressure down to 15 to 20 psi.
The main things are to use fresh Dot 4 fluid & not to allow air into the system .
