So Long MB......
Well I sold my C300 and bought a 2012 Golf R today. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the support and knowledge. Congrats and wise move! 
We have ours arriving in one month (trading in our MkVI GTi). The rear washer fluid issue has been fully resolved BTW, along with the fuel pump issue. The car has an updated EA113 2.0T engine with stronger rods, crankshaft & block than it ever had before thus easily capable of producing 300+hp if chipped and tweaked. The new BorgWarner K04 turbocharger incorporates a new lighter impeller boosting up to 17 psi. With fuel economy ratings of 19 mpg/city and 27 mpg/highway, this is the most fuel-efficient Golf R model ever sold in the U.S.
The Golf R has a new close-ratio six-speed manual that features a new magnesium selector housing/cable operation with very short throw. Incorporate a new HD clutch & pressure plate, this latest-generation 4Motion all-wheel drive system that uses the latest Haldex® clutch pack will continuously vary the amount of torque sent to the rear wheels, up to 100 percent, for traction on more challenging surfaces.
This car is a blast, and destined to be the finest VW ever to hit our shores.
