09 C Vs. 10 C

Hey all,

I made the jump from a 10C to a 09 C. There were some odd things about the 09 and I wanted to ask you guys about it.

1. TPMS - In the 10, I got a diagram with numbers by each tires that showed what the actual pressure was. With the 09, all I get is a sentance saying the TPMS is activated. Is this a program update the dealer can do?

2. Screen in the speedometer - In the 10, the screen was set to what I left it on. This was usually 'audio' and when I turn the car back on, it'll be on 'audio.' With the 09, it always reverts back to 'trip.' Is this another program update for the dealer?

3. I went from a non MM to a MM package. I believe I read here somewhere that the MM package has 2 engineering modes...is this true and if so, how do you access the 2nd one (I know about hangup+1+#).

Thanks!

Here's a clip of my new one!

08 and 09 were the same, but for 2010 they did a very small facelift or just updates. New mirrors, new wheels, and a couple other minor things like the things you mentioned (smoother steering wheel leather-n.a. to c63, tunnel gauges + white needles, different options and packages, slightly changed electronics). Then in 2011 all they did was add the LED DRLs-not on c63.

My question is why would you go down a year?

the only engineering menu I know about is the one you mentioned.

Got an AMG

'10 I had was a C300 (I wanted a stick shift) and I had an '05 E500...traded in both for the AMG.

Now that makes sense!

1. Sounds like you have the passive TPMS now. It measures the rotation speed relative to when you reset it. It works pretty well actually, even with my 19" Work wheels, it was able to detect a decrease in tire pressure after about 5 psi lost. Will not give you actual tire pressures like your '10 did.

2. From what I remember, it always reverts back to trip. Not sure if they can update it so that it doesn't.

3. Never attempted to get into the engineering menu, can't help you there.

Also, 09 was when they swapped over to the tunnel gauges, I had them on my C350.

I guess I'll get used to it and see how it goes.
