2008 C300 4matic front wheel bearing

So my dad's got a 2008 C300 4matic Luxury model. Recently there has been a loud whirring noise from the front driver side wheel. Now this is typically a wheel bearing issue. My dad's usual oil change guy also confirmed this. I want to try and fix this issue myself instead of sending it to a shop. I've never done any work on my dad's car but I have done enough work on my own car (05 Honda Accord) that I don't feel completely incompetent. I was wondering if anyone here with the most recent generation c-class has had any experience changing the wheel bearing. Does it require a lot of labor? What about special tools (e.g. hydraulic press)?

I have the exact same issue. I was wondering if i can do it on my own or if it requires special tools.

My local shop is trying to charge me 4.5 hours labor on the job. Seems way high.

Did you get it fixed? How much did you pay?
