Lighting Package?

Anyone with a 2012 have the lighting package?

How well does the adaptive lighting/high-beam feature work? Is this basically the same type of set-up as on the E-Class?

Read a rather, uh, "glowing" review in the C-class coupe forum, but haven't seen much else about it on the sedan forum.

Any input appreciated.

Thanks.

Since the lights are exactly the same the review from the coupe would stand for the sedan as well.

I don't think we can judge "how well it works" because either it performs its functions or it doesn't. Its difficult to tell whether the adaptive hi-beam is performing its function unless someone is constantly driving on the opposite side of the road as you. The active curve illumination allows you to see slightly better going through corners and I think the hi-beam feature is unnecessary if you have HIDs.

You can get an after-market HID kit and be done with it, but if you have the funds for the lighting package then more power to you.

As someone with a 2012 sedan with the package, I have to say that I wouldn't buy a C without it (and it's the reason I waited 5 months for mine). Functionally it is amazing, and aesthetically it looks much more aggressive.

The adaptive lighting in the curves is noticeable - it took me a few days to really notice it, but it does help. The additional intelligent cornering lights are a great touch and work really well, too... I almost like them better than the swiveling lights.

The adaptive high beams (high beams are quite necessary... not really sure what the light source has to do with it) work very well. Only once have I had to kick them off because it seemingly did not see a car on the other side of the freeway. They are very noticeable when they kick up and throw a really nice wall of light. I leave them in auto all of the time - they seem to pick right when I would manually kick them up anyways to do it.

It's the same basic setup used on the E and S.
