Need help with C300 sound

Hey guys,

I need some help! I drive a 10 C300 with about 22k on the dash. I get a loud metallic sound coming from the front of the car when I turn in parking lots. It kind of sound similar to the brakes that are worn out when braking, somewhat. It is very loud and can be heard with the radio on.

I think it has to do with turning and accelerating vs turning and braking. I have taken it to the dealer twice and they have not found the problem, even went on a test drive but it wouldn't make the sound so they can hear it. Which is a big problem since the sound is sporadic....happening sometimes not ALL time which is frustrating. Dealer said they checked it out and nothing jumps at them, but who knows if they even really did anything

Anything have this problem or found a solution? Its embarrassing when it happens since it is so loud....please help!!

Maybe the power steering pump/belt? Check to see if your power steering fluid is low. That's all I got

Sounds like you may have to just make a mental note of exactly what you were doing each time this happens to help with the diagnosis. Things like was the steering locked all the way one way or the other, accelerating/braking/idling, road surface, etc.
Even then, you may just have to wait until it gets a bit worse and/or happens more often.

Well like I said happens most often when I am in the parking lot turning out of parking space, usually a left turn but happens on right as well. Rarely occurs when you are turning the car when in motion or at a stop light. Don't think its fluid..I would imagine the the techs would check that prior.

But thanks for the help, tia to anyone who can help out any

I had something similar on my 08c350. was the joints up front on the spindle, kind of like a CV joint going bad on a FWD car only when cold and backing out of driveway or parking spot. I ended up lubing everything myself w some disassembly and it went away for a while. came back the next year and did it again
