800 miles out ofwarranty2008 C300 4matic "CLUNK" when stopping and Check Engine Light

I have a 08 c300 4matic that went out of warranty 800 miles ago. My check engine light went on and I ran the codes and it was p701 and p703 and a misfire. So it is the MAS. Now, I was driving and the car makes a noticeable "clunk" and shudder/lurch when coming to a stop at about 2-3 mph. Sounds like maybe the awd is unlocking. Or is it the transmission? It doesnt do it nearly as bad in "S" mode. It has NEVER done this before. Is it related to the check engine light? Does anybody have any idea of what happened? Please let me know. I am hoping the dealer will do something.

I would run back to the dealership ASAP and try to extend your warranty right now!

I have been lucky a few times and had dealers fix things on "good faith". Not sure if MB would do the same.....

Same here. Often dealers will get the OK to warranty repair vehicles that are just out of warranty.
It's not only for the "Good Will" effect but also keeps them out of potential legal issues with people claiming the problem existed but the dealer pushed them off until out of warranty, etc.
Give it a try tomorrow.
