I did not clay bar my car I only did compound and used NXT 2.0 and I used a buffing tool with a microfiber pad. I still need to wipe some areas of the car with a microfiber towel I was in a hurry to take pics.

Rb I used new 3M tape and peeled off the old tape using goo gone.

Ahhh got yah. I don't want to step on your toes... but you want to avoid using compound with out claying first. Clay removes micro dirts and other things form the surface, if you skip this you run the potential of just rubbing all of these back into the clear..creating micro swirl marks and scratches. Sorry if you knew this already.. disregard this.

Depending on how deep the scratch is, you can use a compound to smooth out the edges of the scratch first. If its really deep, wet sanding my be needed, then follow up with compound. After, if the scratch is still "fairly" visible, fill it with clear nail polish or spray with a small coating of clear.

Most scratches are visible because of the edges of the scratch is fairly sharp. The compounds round off the edges of these scratches making the scratch less visible. A very aggressive compound can smooth out a 1500grit wet sanding marks. Hope this helps, and I hope you have an orbital machine, it will make the job easier and faster.

Forgot to add. Clean the scratched area first... use a small brush to get into the crevis of the scratch, make sure there is no dirt in the scratched area, if you don't you risk just making a deeper scratch, and when you fill the scratch with a clear it will still be visible.
