After ordering and waiting 4 months (SA built), finally picked her up on Fri! Have a few questions that maybe folks can provide some suggestions (apologies if it's here already - I'm new!).

1. Can't stand the bright orange front side markers. Anyone have suggestions on where I can find clear replacement ones for 2012s and instal instructions?

2. Possibly would like to replace rear defuser w/ AMG one and put on quad tips (don't want to change current exhaust). Suggestions for 2012s?

3. Parktronic - I got this option and the "P" displays in the window. I thought it gives you instructions on parallel parking spots, but the book says only Canadian models do this? Anyone know why a P shows up on my dash and lights on the indicator when below certain speed if so?

I would just take the sidemarkers to a bodyshop and have them sand and paint body color, I have this on mine and love the look. There are 2012 AMG and tips packages for sale on ebay and in classifieds, just get teh parts and goto a good exhaust shop for tip install and diffuser, the diffuser is real easy to R & R. I have no idea on parktronic someone else might

I know the owner's manual says "only in Canada", but it also says "Parking Guidance" is only available in Canada. By what the owner's manual shows for Parktronic (beeping when you're close to something), then I'd say you (and I) do have it. But I am a bit p*ssed because I bought the package solely for my son being able to parallel park. And the salesslime claimed that that's what it would do...but the owner's manual now claims otherwise...

So I'm thinking we have Parktronic but not parking guidance.

ETA: Can they legally charge us for an option that we really didn't get?

I know. That's what my sales guy told me too and I read online. I opted to get that instead of the reverse camera but w/out the parallel parking makes it an expensive option compared to nav w/ camera.

And the more important question...why in the hell would/should this be a Canada only option? Same with folding side mirrors...Makes no sense to me.

They haven't made any clear side markers yet for the 2012 model but check on Ebay time to time because my guess is there should be some coming out pretty soon.

Parking guidance displays a little white triangle on the left or right of the P (in blue) when it's working (i.e. you drive at slow speeds and it spots a parking).

Got parking guidance to work last night. 2012c350 - sure you have it too! Instead of setting the outside temp to display you need to set it to kph and then it's activated. There is more on it in the book and will admit it does say only for Canadian but mine's a US car.

Folding mirrors were removed from the P1 after 2008 in the US. Maybe they still come standard on the Canadian models, but I have them on my 08' C300.

I'm a bit indifferent about them though. Although its nice to have them so no one side-swipes your mirrors when you're parked, its just another motor that would need to be replaced once they die.

Per the dealer ordering guide in netstar it states PARKTRONIC w/Parking Guidance.

Make sure you are following the proper sequence of events to ensure it works properly.

In the cars that drive on the right side of the road....
1. Drive slowly past a line of cars with your right turn signal on.
2. When the arrow on the right side of the P symbol comes on it has found a spot large enough for the car to park, stop if you want to park there.
3. Put car in reverse and the prompt for parking guidance will appear in the speedometer cluster.
4. Select yes if you want to use the parking guidance and follow the instructions.

Dang. The new 2012 AMG diffuser is sub-$200 on their account, yet the 08-11 AMG diffuser practically goes for $400.

But yeah, to the OP, car looks great! Lol. I'm really starting to envy those with the updated models. The interior looks far superior to the current one. Anywhoo! In regards to the parking thing, I have no clue, but sidemarkers you can definitely have painted easily by a body shop.

Thanks again. I hadn't tried to use it, but after OP said it was Canadian only, and a quick look on the online owner's manual seemed to confirm that I just assumed it was indeed not "enabled". Thanks for the information.

hey ! this is my 1st post here. I bought a C250 cdi 2012 last week in India. my car comes with PARKTRONIC including Parking Guidance, but i am not sure how to activate it.
Also is the parking assistant and guidance mean the same ?
