i have a dtc a288 ecu watchdog detected and car wont start or turn any of the cluster lights on probably due to jumping car with key on. Its over at an indy shop right now and they told me they want to replace eis since thats what star diag tool is reading. I have a feeling its something to do with the safety feature in ecu. I cant find any related threads online but this whole watchdog protection seems to be exactly the problem, if anyone has any information regarding this subject please pm me or reply to thread!!!

if you want to save take it to the dealer where they wont just be guessing.

they aren't guessing, they are basing on the diagnostic tool which is what stealership does as well just charge a lot more for labor

Lets make something very clear. A fault code, is just that. It does not tell you always what is causing the problem. It is a starting point. Thats why it would benifit you to find someone who can actually diagnose the issue and not just point at a code. You must go further than that.

i just got help from fixya.com and the tech advised me to change the pre-fuse box since the car was in car crash and airbags deployed etc.. i will ask the shop tomorrow if they ran test on that!!!

Have you resolved your problem?
My sister have this problem with her car and it was something to the steering wheel some like a computer at the starting engine...I don't know exactly ....
Curious is after she repaired the problem if you put a tester on the car it have the same error, but the car star and run perfectly....
I am just curious if you resolved your problem.
