Disable annoying navigation traffic updates

Can someone please help me disable these super annoying traffic updates that play during navigation? I'm on a road trip and driving in LA and about to pull my hair out having to hear every couple minutes that "on US 105 westbound traffic congestion between Yada Yada and Yada Yada, avg speed 30 mph." I know I can press mute to stop each time but I don't want it doing this at all!!!! I'm having to press mute every 2 min. Oh I have a 2012 c250 with command.

Anyone? I know I'm not the first to encounter this issue.

If you press (select) the radio button and say select FM station, do you still hear that traffic updates?

Are you looking for this?

Automatic read-aloud function
To switch on navigation mode: press the Navi function button.
To show the menu: press the COMAND controller.
Select Navi by sliding and turning the COMAND controller and press to confirm.
Select Read Traffic Messages Automatically and press to confirm. Depending on the previous state, switch the option on or off.

I found it on page 93:

That sounds like what I need. I'll go through it step by step tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure I got to that menu and selected cancel and it didn't do a darn thing. I'm just shocked more people haven't raised this issue. Perhaps it's not a problem if you live in a low traffic area, but if you live in an area with lots of traffic it's absolutely intolerable.

Thanks for posting this! It was about to drive me out of my mind today, and my cursory review of the owner's manual missed the solution. Silence is golden.
