I think chrome may be the only way to go on black. Machined on black looks ok but kinda plain and the "murdered out" look is getting played out as well.
EDIT: Guess it depends heavily on the car and wheel style combo as well tho

Dude don't be so sensitive. I didn't say there was something wrong with chrome, if you look at my picture album you will see I owned a 5 series with aftermarket chrome wheels which I put on it. I was just saying chrome is outdated.

But that is always so much more fun...
But seriously, I am not a big fan of chrome either and was on the fence about getting my wheels due to the "highly polished" aluminum face. I went for it and after having them on the car for a while, appreciate a little more shine than just silver paint or matte, bronze, etc.
If you love em, they are perfect...kinda like women.

Funny. Because of this thread, I have been noticing a lot more cars (mainly euro's) with chrome wheels LOL. And based off what I've been noticing it just reaffirms my original opinion. Chrome can look awful if the wheel design does not "match" or "fit" the car. But I've seen 2 BMW's, a MB, and a Lexus on chrome wheels between last night and this morning. All of em looked really nice except one of the BMW's. So I think chrome goes just fine on Euro and Jap cars if the wheel design choice is "right".

Not a fan of chrome it screams look at me look at me, and all you notice is the wheels not the car. A good wheel should compliment the car not detract from the car like a chrome wheels. And just FYI there not Rims there wheels. Rims is street slang for I have no taste. Just my 2 cents, you asked for honest feed back.
