Modifying Midcity VIM (don't fit)

Hey guys
I bought a Midcity VIM but it doesn't fit right with the oem adapter.

It needs modifying for some reason. Do anyone have experience with this or is it just me?

Thank you very much

I have no idea what an OEM adapter might be but when I installed the VIM in my 2008 in 2007 I had so much trouble getting it just right under the radio that I drove around for a week with the radio sticking out of the dash. Then I found out later that for just the camera I didn't need the VIM in the first place.

The damned thing will fit in there but it isn't easy. I hope I never have to pull it out in the future.

What kind of issues are you having? I recently went through a lengthy install and had to modify some stuff to make it work.

I'm having this problem too. The VIM connector just doesn't fit the radio unit. Also, if I recall correctly the orange dual optical cable doesn't fit the VIM connector either. It's just kinda loose...

The VIM connector that hooks to the radio? It is hard to get it to fit but I did not have any problems with it. I was able to make the hole a little bigger that holds the orange optical wires into the connector. You do need to support the clip as you make the hole bigger so it does not break but my connector is snug now.
