Eyebrow lights
Eyebrow lights
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to know if there is a trick to have just the eyebrow lights work by themselves, almost mimicking city lights. I used to have a MK3 GLX and had a euro headlight swich that allowed you to turn on which ever light you wanted. I am in Canada, and we have day time running. Thx

You can run a relay from the battery that will power the eye lid bulbs separately if you are willing to familiarize and mess with the headlight connectors. If you would rather not mess with it yourself, you could hire a competent auto electrician to do it for you, like I did.
The eyelids would be powered on whenever the vehicle turns on, but you would probably lose the eyelid light feature when unlocking your car.
If you wanted to maintain the unlocking feature where the eyelids and fogs turn on, you could set it up so that the eyelids turn on whenever fog lights do. So you could switch the fog lights on and the eyelid would turn on as well. The same would apply when you unlock your vehicle, the eyelids and fogs would both turn on.
You would probably need resistors clamped on the eyelid wires to prevent error codes.
I'm not really 100% sure on all of this, but I hope it helps.

Thanks so much...I don't have the car yet, but when test driving it, I realized I really liked the look of them, but couldn't figure out how to use them other than when in park. They are such a cool feature and should be utilized more, as I'm guessing other people have done the work to make what you have explained functional.
