'09 c300 4matic Sport, need servicing advice

I am very new to the forum. I am looking for general and technical information that may help me to service and maintain a '09 c300 4matic sport. I know there is a lot of posts I can search for and will, but was hoping for members with a lot of experiance with these cars to bring me up to speed quicker because I am looking at and considering buying one just traded at local lot. MB is not there brand and it will be taken to an auction soon. I am in the mid west and not close to a MB dealer. I am very mechanical and have much experience with maintaining (brake jobs, clutches, overhauls) on many vehicles, just not familiar with these. My questions and concerns, is there an engine oil drain plug? Checking automatic trans. oil, and power steering oil.( where and how) rear tires are Michelin mxm4 and worn a lot on the inside corners, problem or just its nature? Is rear camber adjustable from factory or are aftermarket bushings required if I want to give up some performance? Recommended oil weight?(5-40?) Are there OEM parts available from suppliers or only dealers. Any special things to look for? Car is hi mileage, 109K-hiway. Looks new, except for rear tires, I like the feel and way it drives. Just trying to get an idea of what I am in for before I decide to purchase or not. Price might fall between 16 to 18K? I would be very grateful for any useful information or opinions. Thanks In advance.

I'm not sure if you should look into maintenance just yet. I think the price, 16-18k, for a 109k mile '09 c300 is extremely overpriced. I think 16-18k should get you a 40-70k mileage C300, depending on the packages of course.

Where are you located?

Domm, thank you for your input. I am in northeast IA. The car has the premium package and navigation. I was thinking of a 14.5K to 15.5K offer. Even if I see another c300 with less miles, getting familiar with maintaining this year and class will be a learning curve, but should be fairly quick with some help. I had not thought of one of these until this one popped up, one block away. It does drive very tight and looks like it is almost new. (except for the rear tires) My wife likes it as well. We did drive a BMW 328xi, I liked very much but my wife did not, quick hard shift off of first gear. I only have a guess what this c300 would bring at an auction with 109K mi. But if the dealer would come close to the auction price and not have to pay commissions and travel. (175 mi. to auction one way) it could be a good value that both my wife and I like. Not many with this many miles to compare how well they will stand up, all things wear but I have had good luck in the past with cars driven hi way miles. Had my '82 300D for 16 years now,(151kmi.) don't drive it enough. Looking to replace a '96 es300 Lexus. Feel free with any other thoughts.

Read some threads here about oil changes - Mobil 1 0W40 is the OEM fill but other suitably rated oils can be used. Parts are available from alot of places other than the dealers, including amazon.com. Oil changes on this car are designed to be done with topside extraction, but you need the proper suction equipment - there are detailed threads on it here. This car you are thinking of buying - it should have had two automatic transmission services done with that many miles on it. If there are no service records indicating that - run away. You can always get new tires.
