I bought my flat hood emblem from a seller on eBay about 4 years ago who fabricates these emblems with a combination of OEM and custom solid alloy metal parts (it is quite heavy), very similar to the white star badges.
It's really subtle but I really like it:

They are more than everyone else, we are talking though about our Mercedes !!!! and you get what you paid for and when it comes to MY Mercedes I get the BEST! I am doing the 2012 LED tail facelift and I am having to purchase a 2012 rear SAM module to boot. OEM's are still 1000 times better than any ebay aftermarket !!!!

I agree. DFW badges rock.. I'm brand new to modding though, and the price tag to get mine shipped to Zambia (where I live) is a little too steep for my first mod. it's on the cards for later, though..
