How to install my trunk soplier?

There are several variables which can make adhesives work or not....surface temp, ambient temp, pressure applied, cleanliness of surface, part fit, etc. I don't rely on tape. I use a bead of urethane which is much more secure. But, be sure you like the spoiler. It will not be easy to remove, which is the idea in the first place! The car behind you at 70mph thanks you!

Clean the surface off with soap and dry it well. Keep the car in the garage so it isn't under direct sunlight. Apply tape and pressure and let sit.

I've seen too many examples of similar parts applied under controlled conditions in an assembly plant still fail to achieve proper adhesion, requiring meetings with (sometimes perplexed) adhesive suppliers, followed by massive rework of lots of vehicles sitting in the yard. I would not trust such an adhesive applied in uncontrolled conditions without something stronger, such as urethane.

I used 3m double sided tape for mine. I did it at about 85 degree weather. You have to clean the area with soap and water, dry it. When I did mine, I also used a heat gun to heat up the tape before installing. I just pressed on the spoiler against the trunk lid for a few minutes.

I have 3M on mine and its still sticking really well. It's been almost 5 years and plenty of car washes and baking in the sun. Still no issues.

I just went through this, and the tape was a no go. I even bought the good 3m stuff and the adhesion promotor. When I had my 3 series, the trunk lip spoiler was much smaller and I completely covered the bottom with 3m and it held like a champ. The spoiler for my c class is much larger compared to the BMW version and the tape wouldn't do the job. I ended up using betalink which is BMW's version of glue. You can get a 3m urethane version from an automotive paint supply place though. Something like speed grip is also a good product.
