Audio Boost Upgrade Success Rate
Hello all!
I'm trying to get my audio system upgraded with the newest firmware so I can get that audio boost function that eliminates the difference in volume between the AUX and radio issue. However, after reading through a few threads on the issue, it seems that not everyone has been able to get the upgrade covered under warranty. I was just wondering how many of you on the boards have successfully been able to convince the dealership to do this for you.
Also, I was wondering if this firmware upgrade encompasses the compact flash volume. I find that there is quite a difference in volume between my radio and compact flash.
Thanks in advance!

I had no problem what so ever. The SA didn't even blink, and said "okay".
Big difference... Not sure it applies to the pc-card/compact flash port.

My service centre did it without any dramas. As long as the car's still under warranty, they can always bill Mercedes for any warranty work they do. So I don't see why they would have any issues doing it for you.
The volume boost function works well with AUX input, you can tell a BIG difference. Sometimes I find it too loud even and have to turn it down.
However, no boost function for pc card. I'm using compact flash, but I find that the sound has always been pretty good with memory card. So no need for boost.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I wish they included a volume level indicator in the new firmware update, it would've been nice to have.
