I put rain-x on my windshield (not the washer fluid) and regret it. The wipers now chatter, I had read about this before and seems common with MB blades.

Are you talking about the rain-x windshield wiper formula or the one that comes in the little bottle? If it's the one in the little bottle then yes, it won't harm anything but it also won't do you any good to pour it in the windshield fluid. The small bottle is to be applied in a specific manner on your windshield in order to work.

I too had this problem, then I realized that using rain-x actually negated the frequent use of my wipers so I stopped running them as much.

I have been using rainex for many years with any problems.

I find it useful at highway speeds under some circumstances when it is raining. I do not need to use the wipers so do not activate the ridiculous( in warm climates) brake fethering feature.

I have been using Rain-X for decades with no problem. I also use the Rain-X washer fluid in my car.
