2009 Mervedes Benz C Class
iphone/ipod integration with 2009 C300W

Hello all. I recently purchased a used 2009 c 300W luxury sedan. The car has some "interesting" factory add-ons to it. Firstly it has navigation but does not have the the large navigation screen. Holding down the CLR key for few seconds displays the navigation function in the radio screen itself. It also has a ipod integration kit (I believe) built into the glove box. This kit has 2 wires coming out of it - one, a USB cable (not sure for what) and the other is a ipod/Iphone charger. I purchased a 3.5mm jack in hopes of connecting my iphone to this kit but am not able to find a way to hear any music from my phone. How do I get to a screen/option from which I can listen to the music on my phone?? ANy suggestions appreciated.

You have UMI, also called Navigation 20 or Nav +4. First click the Disc button on the stereo to access UMI. Then highlight disc and select it. It should give you a few options: iPod, Audio Streaming, USB and Aux. Select aux to use the regular analog input.

Edit: In navigation, press back until it returns you to the audio menu.

Sorry to revive an ancient thread...

I have the UMI option in my 09 C300, does this mean I have nav too? Are there different versions of the UMI?

Some locations may need to add the UMI Plus to get full functions.

Interesting. The sticker on my car says I have the UMI summer incentive. Doesn't mention "Plus." I should test the "CLR" method when I get my car back from the dealer.

Do all instrument clusters have the Nav option? When I scroll through the options, Nav is present and it displays "Heads Up: street name."

Fancy that. All this time and I had no idea my car was equipped with a navigation. Thanks for the CLR method instructions...
