2009 c300 start problem
I have a 2009 c300, 3rd owner of the car. I go to start the car a few days ago and like normal put the key in, steering wheels on its way down and i turn the key and let go, car almost started..shook a bit and turned off. I was in a rush so i just turned car to off position then started and it was fine.
Now this morning same thing happens again not sure what could be wrong, no lights or anything came on. From time to time I notice that i can turn the key to start the car and it doesnt start almost like its dead. Looked into it and it seems like its just a common problem these cars have. but for it to start quickly then turn off worries me.
My mothers 2011 does the same thing from time to time ( i would expect it to, being 250 days past service A.. 2 years old never had an oil change )
Anyway anyone else experience this?

I have not experienced exactly what you have described, but on cold starts, my car sounds like there is nocking occasionally from the engine for the first 5 seconds then stops. Weird.

Maybe you're letting go of the ignition too quickly? Let it completely start before you let go of the key. Maybe try recording a video?
I think you may be talking about the EIS issue with the 2008.

As to your Mother's neglected 2011, it's under warranty and you had better get it to the dealer for a diagnosis and repair.

I still think by the OP stating "car almost started..shook a bit and turned off" doesn't sound like the EIS issue. The reported EIS failures indicate absolutely nothing happens when the key is turned.
