UMI (Universal Media Interface) retro fitting in Tri-State area(NY,NJ,CT)
First of all the sound is VERY low in relation to the radio and CD player. I googled the ipod amp thing and I definitely am going to get that installed.
But a big thing that I don't like is I can't go through the ipod on the screen like I thought. I can't select playlists or anything. Just go to the next or previous song in the instrument cluster.
Through searching and googling I found out about the Media Interface Plus. Long story short..(probably too late lol) I found out that it can't be installed in my vehicle because I don't have the Universal Media Interface option installed, even though i have the Multimedia Package.
So I need to install this Universal Media Interface before I buy The Media Interface PLUS. I wanted to know if anybody knew of any good shops in NY or NJ that do this install? I'm in Queens btw Thanks for taking the time to read

tune
name of playlist
Playlist, then up the menu of
Shuffle
Genres
Artists
Albums, etc.
Shuffle is not the first option IF you did not specify Shuffle when you created the Playlist in iTunes.
Attached is the iPod Integration Kit Manual, although poorly written, is correct in its sequences.
As for the iPod Amplifier Part No A 204 870 3994, there may be a new parts number. In ANY case make sure you get the German sourced iPod Amo, not the Chinese which produces about 30% THD. Then iPod volume on "8" and EQ on "POP".
The UMI supposedly make the console control knob access the iPod and display everything in the 5 inch center screen, as it should have done in the first place. The UMI Plus then adds still more functions. All of this should have been included with the HK system and the Premium package in the first place, as BMW, Audi and even FORD or Hyundai in their least expensive models, are a light year ahead of MB's immature offerings in the W204.
