Hello,
I just bought a 2009 c300 4matic sport a few days ago and it was running great, until now. A huge thunderstorm just passed, and the gauge cluster starts mentioning about the abs and esp malfunction. it's got 40k miles on it and service B is due in 500 miles. Can anyone tell me what's wrong? The headlights come on just fine, and I hear a click when I try to start it. Then, every light would go off for a second before coming back on. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like your battery is dying or have corrosion on the terminals

Yeah I thought so too, but I was just driving the car around this evening. This is my first Merc, so I'm a bit unfamiliar with all this.

Check for any water ingress after the storm in the boot or engine bay.

Your electrical system may be wet.

I've got a new CPO 2009 as well, I've had the battery die twice already. Not sure why. I assume that when operating the car when it's not running just pulls a LOT of power compared to cars I've had in the past. Who knows though.

I was transferring a few songs from the cd to the hdd while the ignition was switched off. Seems like these things pull lots of power!
