Mbrace/Mbrace2 system
Does anybody know anything about this? Is it available in Canada? Is it possible remote start the car using the iPhone app?
I could not even download the app here in Canada!!!

You could just ask your dealer no? Quick glance at MBUSA (yes I know you're in Canada) just say there is any regional restrictions and I easily found the app on my Samsung GS2 in Hong Kong with no restrictions to DL. http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/mbrace/owners

That is why I didn't go to the Dealer. I find that if you want knowledgable and uncompromized info, this is the place. After all that is why we keep this community.
Regarding the Mbrace, from what I have learned so far, it is not worth it.

+1 on the dealer bs. Everytime I try to get some sort of info off of them they never have a clue. This is the place for info. I don't need to carry my VIN around in my back pocket here. Lol

Ya I got mbrace on my 2013 c300 and its only app for unlock, lock which is cool kinda like auto start lol run out start it and lock with app then Unlock when about to go outside. Has horn and lights button for finding vehicle in busy parking lot, also find car if it has been stolen. They provide you with many services such as they will know if bag deploys and will send you assistance. If tired they will call you a cab home and drive car back with you or call hotel and get you a room. Cool stuff

Are you living in Canada? as I have no luck on getting mbrace to work in Canada.

My partner got the new 2013 SL550 and they forgot to disable the 'please activate mbrace' message on startup, during the PDI process... When they asked about it, the dealer said the feature is not yet available in Canada, even though the cars are technically equipped with mbrace2.

I just got off the phone with MB Canada and the news are not good:
A - NO Sirius satellite WEATHER on Canada
B- NO Mbrace/Mbrace2 in Canada, and worse, no hardware in any Canadian car for Mbrace/Mbrace2. Not even 2013.
C - No ETA date to fix the glitches on Command regarding Iphones.

If you are interested in remote start, I would highly recommend Viper Smart Start. This will allow you to lock/unlock as well as start your vehicle. With the GPS Smart Start module, you can even track your vehicle (in the case of theft) and even remotely shut off your vehicle. It's pricey but if you are serious, I'd give Mid City Engineering's website a look. They are Mercedes-focused and are really cool guys.

Bad news for sirius weather but I think it is safe to say that you aren't missing out that much on the Mbrace, guys. I was pretty disappointed after activating it and don't think it is worth the subscription fee. At least for me, the 3 second lag time after pressing unlock was highly unattractive.

Bad news for sirius weather but I think it is safe to say that you aren't missing out that much on the Mbrace, guys. I was pretty disappointed after activating it and don't think it is worth the subscription fee. At least for me, the 3 second lag time after pressing unlock was highly unattractive.

It's FREE - What's "Not Worth" Free - If you find yourself needing to unlock your car for ANY reason JUST one time, it's certainly going to be 'worth it.'

Mine was not free. My new C300 came with a six month mbrace trial then it was $280 plus tax per year.
I cancelled.
If it included remote start I would have kept it.
