"Disc Unreadable"?? Has anyone encountered this?
So a couple days I wanted to record a new CD onto my car's hard drive, but when I put the CD in it just displayed "Disc Unreadable" and would not play. Moreover, I tried playing several other CDs (including a couple that played perfectly fine just a few months ago), but they also failed to play. I searched the forums here and saw one post suggesting that an 'update' would fix this, but I feel it would be more likely that something is broken within the CD player?
Have any of you encountered this problem and how did you have it fixed? Update or new CD player? I have a service appointment scheduled, but I'm just curious if any of you have experienced this.
Thanks!

I just left the dealership. They said since it can't play my "factory, non-burnt" CDs they're just going to order an entire new unit. Luckily it's still under warranty for another year. Thank goodness for my extended warranty (I'm at 52k miles!)

Good thing you're still under warranty. I believe the unit cost 6 grand to replace on the MDX, but it was equipped with a dvd player for the rear seat entertainment as well.
