Need opinions on purchasing c300
Hey guys!
long time member here used to drive a w208..gone through e46, e60, and e90. Finally coming back to a mercedes (hopefully).
looking at an 08 c300. white/ black with panorama roof (been searching long for this combo) ipod hookup
53k miles. 7 speed tranny. read that the 7 speed has a lot of problems and is prone to failure? I bought a few carfax record checks just in case, the owner is goign to send me the vin soon hopefully.
He claims always serviced at fletcher jones mercedes.
IF the transmission has not been serviced once already should I stay away? I dont mind getting it done when i purchase the vehicle, but is it too late? Im used to the "lifetime fluid" of the old mercedes and bimmers, but i always changed them out around 75k.
Guy is in a rush to sell, going to take it to carmax if he doesnt by the weekend. Hes willing to give it to me same price @ 18,500 cash.
Any input will be greatly appreciated

My only addition would be purchase an auto check from autocheck.com I know that CarFax seems like the #1, guessing due to great marketing, but I had an issue a few years ago. Purchased a Toyota Camry with a clean carfax, went to trade it in to carmax to get my Merc recently and they use auto check. Apparently the camry was in an accident had had frame damage! Went back and bought both checks for myself, and sure enough, clean carfax and then it showed up on autocheck.
Also with the service, if it was serviced at that MB dealer, you should be able to go there and have them pull up the service record.
