I read somewhere on here that they used race fuel to fix a CEL. I tried 108 Octane additive and after 20 seconds the CEL turned off. Why did this work?

You should bring your car to an auto parts or o'reilys where they can pull the DTC and give you a definitive answer.

Love to know where you got a 108 octane additive? I belong to a vintage M/C club where our old bikes need 98-100 ron, but no one believes in these octane boosters - best test on one was about 0.1 increase! Racing fuel is well over 100, as you say but hard to come by.
