I'm running Dunlop Wintersport 3Ds. I used them for 2 seasons on my AMG and they were fantastic even with that much horsepower. I'm going to be trying them for the first season this time on my 4matic and expect the same great results.
I found the Blizzaks a bit too soft and squishy, even in their newer versions. The Dunlops are perhaps a bit less grippy, but you don't give up much in everyday driving on wet or dry roads.

Not sure where you live but it sounds like you may want "sort of" a winter tire. So-called "performance winter" are so-so at both qualities, but might be a compromise you can live with. Blizzaks WS series are outstanding in snow and ice but are soft. What is more important to you? As an alternative, consider Michelin X Ice xi3, also a "studless winter", if you truly need superior snow and ice traction.

+1 to the dunlops winter sport 3D
I used them for last winter, loved it. grip was good and i felt completely safe in snow (though it was not that heavy last year for us)
